At Rachel’s Taste of Indiana, our roots run deep - seven generations deep, to be exact.
Our family has been farming the rich soil of Indiana for over a century. What started as a simple way of life has grown into a lasting tradition: working the land with care, respecting what it gives, and building a legacy rooted in honesty, hard work, and family values. That heritage lives on today in everything we do.
As the sixth and seventh generation of Hoosier farmers, we know the value of hard work, integrity, and staying connected to the land. For us, it’s not just about growing crops - it’s about preserving a way of life. That commitment is what inspired us to start Healthy Hoosier Oil: a way to ensure the food we produce is clean, honest, and rooted in something real. Producing our own life of cooking oil allows us to maintain that integrity from the soil to the bottle - using seeds grown on our land and processed with care, so we can stand behind every drop.
But we didn't stop there.
Rachel’s Taste of Indiana was born out of a desire to go further - to create a space where people could experience the best of what Indiana has to offer. In our store, you’ll find handmade, locally made products, many of them rooted in the same traditions that shaped our family. From our own Healthy Hoosier Oil to other Indiana Grown foods, and products. We are proud to bring together a taste of our home state under one roof.

Partnering and working with other local Indiana businesses has always been at the heart of our business model. It’s always been important to us to support our neighbors, and we’re proud to be able to offer both local residents and visitors to our community a unique shopping experience that features goods sourced 100% from across Indiana. Joining the Indiana Grown program has been a vital part of our ability to network with other Indiana businesses and source those goods.
What started as a store front for cold-pressed culinary sunflower oils has grown into a small-town family-owned business that has farm-to-table culture at our core. Not only can you buy Healthy Hoosier Oil’s sunflower oil in our store, but so many other unique and wonderful goods from across Indiana are available. From hand-made souvenirs to fresh-from-the-farm local beef, pork, and dairy, our in-store offerings represent the best that Indiana’s farmers, artisans, and craftspeople offer. Homemade pies and cookies are also made fresh on location (the peanut butter pie is a best seller!).
